FOL History

Fountain of Life Covenant Church began as an InterVarsity campus ministry. In 2000, a campus staff team planted More Than Conquerors at Cal State Dominguez Hills and Compton City College. On the very first day of ministry, a demon-possessed homeless man accosted the campus pastor and began yelling his expletive laced message, “We don’t want you here! We don’t want you here!”

After six years of campus ministry, God has been faithful to bring about his purposes for the group. It is clear why the evil one and his demonic forces did not want us on the campus. The campus work has grown in holiness, conversions, leadership and size. The first major class of seniors have graduated and are entering into the work force as changed and transformed disciples of Jesus.

Many of the college students who have become core members of More Than Conquerors are from the local community. and as we tried to meet the holistic needs we encountered, an idea began to percolate: let’s plant a church out of the campus work.

As we expand, the calling, training and sending of college students is at the heart of our vision. We are a church that is committed to local college students. FOL believes that the leaders of tomorrow are on today’s college campuses. And the leaders of tomorrow’s inner-city are at Dominguez Hills today.

April 2006 marked the official beginning of FOL. God has been very faithful to affirm his work through provision, prophetic confirmations and a gathering of wonderful people to begin the core group. September 2006 marks the preview services and Fountain of Life will move to weekly services in January 2007.

God Among Us

We believe that God is with us. We are not alone. God has come and makes his permanent home with us. As one popular author likes to teaches, “God came to us and moved into the neighborhood.” FOL is committed to experiencing God Among Us. This page will feature God working in the lives of FOL members, and his interests in the community. Our first entry will be in January 2007. Please come back and check this page out. God is with us.
