ORDER OF SERVICE

  • CALL TO WORSHIP
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. Join us as we stand to sing, giving glory to the God who is unsearchable in his ways but has made himself known to us.

  • PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Please sit or kneel and pray aloud the words that are printed here.

All: Loving God, you have created a diverse world, a world full of languages, of nationalities, and ideologies, and we often carry our opinions like burdens. Forgive us for confusing our own voices with the call to be your unified people. Forgive us for judging others in ways that condemn, for not hearing when we listen and for seeing with the eye instead of through the eye as we look at those around us. Teach us how to appreciate differences while living as one community. You have put us in this place, in this time, you have given us the breath in our lungs, and the spaces in life we each inhabit. Forgive us for holding back from others the gifts you give us so freely. Show us how to love without fear. Your word is a lamp unto our feet, your story is a way of life, remind us how to walk the ancient paths not turning to the left or the right from following after you. We pray in the name of God, our Father, Christ, the Risen One, and the Holy Spirit, the Breath of Life. Amen.

  • ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.” The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?” Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” Inasmuch as you have come in this moment to Jesus for healing and forgiveness, he says to you, “go in peace, friend, your faith has saved you.” Amen

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. Anniversary Service, 3/3: We are going to have an entire service of thankfulness to our God. We want to celebrate the work of his hands! Pastor Kim would like everyone to share a word, a note of thanks, and prayer for the future: Follow this link and spend 5 minutes: bit.ly/Anniversary24.

We'll also have our annual photo and cupcakes! Please dress up next week for the photo.

  2. Taco Sunday: We won't have tacos today, but please stay and fellowship next week after the anniversary service. We'll have tacos in March on a TBD Sunday.

  3. Audio Files: The Lenten Collection: Pastor Kim has recorded an audio file for each day of Lent, to help us enter into the presence of God, hear the Word, confess our sins, pray, and meditate. The Lenten Collection is available on the FOL app or on the website.

  4. CROSSwalk: If you would like to help serve the children in our Sunday Crosswalk classes, we could use your help! In particular, we are in need helpers in the elementary class. If you are already cleared to serve, please consider signing up by emailing debaliu@gmail.com. If you are interested in volunteering for Crosswalk, but have not going through the onboarding process, please reach out to Kelli Vos at: kelli.m.miller@gmail.com

  5. Slack: One of the values FOL staff are embracing is rest.  We want to ensure that we are working in ways that honor God. This means that at 5:00 pm, staff will not be responding to messages on Slack with the exception of an on-call staff member.

  6. Tithes and Offerings: You may give online (folcov.org/give) or place your offering in the wooden box to the right of the stage.
