At the Family Center, we help adults and children. We seek to serve and benefit our community by offering a variety of programs and services for all ages. We also network with the City of Long Beach’s community resources to provide food distribution, shelter, and other free or low-cost services.
PROGRAMS & EVENTS
TUTORING:
Our after-school program for elementary students, which meets Monday through Thursday from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m., includes homework help, snacks, and tutoring in phonics, reading, writing, and basic math. On Thursdays from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., we offer The Young Explorers Bible Study: an exciting and interactive study of God's Word for K - 5th Graders. For information on jr. high and high school tutoring, please contact the Family Center.
Fall Session: October 1st - January 31st
Spring Session: February 4th - June 6th
Mondays and Wednesdays: K - 2nd Graders
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 3rd - 5th Graders
*No tutoring on school holidays*
FIX YOUR BIKE:
Do you, or does someone you know, rely on bicycles for work, school, or play? We offer free help and tools for bicycle repair and rebuilding. Drop by if you need help with that flat tire, want to do a complete tune up, or even build a bike from scratch. We can also provide bikes for those who don't have one. We love bikes and the people who love bikes. Mondays from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Bible Study starts at 8!
KIDZ CAMP:
Join us for a fun-filled day of Bible stories, songs, games, crafts and more! For students in grades K-5. Saturday, March 23rd from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
YOUTH GROUP KIDZ:
FOL Youth Ministry exists to foster the faith of middle schoolers by finding them where they are, integrating them into the love of the congregation and helping them reach out to the needs of our neighbors while strengthening them in their quest to be like Christ, so their lives become a tribute to God. Our winter schedule is coming soon!
ENGLISH CLASSES/Clases de Inglés:
Mondays - Thursdays from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. we offer English Classes. Learn and practice conversational English.
Los lunes - jueves a las 9 a 11 a.m. se ofrecen clases de ingles. Aprenda y practica ingles conversacional.
